ABOUT US
Eastside Music is a family-owned company and has operated in the Portland-Metro area for 40 years. We are a grassroots store, handling everything in-house including all marketing, website services, etc. We are a bit old school as we focus more on the personal interactions of the community inside our store than we do on e-commerce and high volume output. Everything here is done by hand, no automation! Keeping it personal allows us to focus on the quality of your experience.
For the first 15 years, we occupied a small space in a shopping center in the Parkrose district of Portland. It became evident we needed to expand our size to accommodate the business growth we had experienced in the first 15 years of operation. Eastside then relocated to Gresham, Oregon in 2001 where we remain to this day. Our mission was to service the growing eastern boundary of Multnomah County where there had been a need for what we could offer.
While some music companies have continued to expand their footprint and territory, Eastside’s philosophy is that staying small allows us to direct all of our efforts toward our local community and maintain a higher standard of service to our customers. This philosophy continues to be the backbone of our business ethos.
In addition to servicing the broader community, we work directly with local school teachers to ensure their students are prepared for class with instruments and appropriate supplies. Our experience in this realm allows us to plan each year in conjunction with educators to make sure everything runs smoothly.
