Showroom Salesman+ Position

Eastside Music is looking to add a Showroom Salesman to our staff team. This position is for up to approx. 30 hours of work per week during our work week of Tuesday to Friday 10am to 5:30pm.

The minimum age requirement to work here is 18. We are looking for someone that can work a regular schedule; this is not a seasonal position.

Required skills/traits/knowledge

  • Punctuality

  • Knowledgeable about band (brass & woodwind) instruments. Has been in at least some band or orchestra classes.

  • Good customer service

  • A generally positive attitude

  • Basic clerking/cash handling ability

  • Willingness to learn, works well with a small team

Not required but helpful! We can train you to be proficient in these categories!

  • Office experience - filing, organization, ordering, inputting inventory, etc.

  • Basic Point-of-Sale software operation. We use AIMsi software and this crosses into the showroom too (having some computer background will be helpful here).

  • Website design/editing. We use Squarespace (computer background).

  • Know-it-alls. We believe there is something to be learned from every experience. We like to work with our employees and build them to be part of our team. If your previous experiences preclude you from learning anything at this job, we may not be a fit for you.

  • Flakiness/Tardiness. Our customers expect us to be on-time and similarly, we expect our employees to be on-time to work and reliable.

  • Job “hoppers”. We would like to have a team member who wants to stay in our community. We do understand if you have different ambitions but we are seeking a long-term employee.
