Showroom Salesman+ Position

Starting in early 2026, Eastside Music will be looking to add a Showroom Salesman to our staff team. This position is for approximately 30 hours of work per week during our work week of Tuesday to Friday 10am to 5:30pm.

The minimum age requirement to work here is 18. We are looking for someone that can work a regular schedule; this is not a seasonal position.

Here are skills we see as valuable:

Showroom:

  • Knowledgeable about band (brass & woodwind) instruments.

  • Good communication and customer service skills

  • Clerking/cash handling ability (offhand math skills help here)

  • Willingness to learn, works well with a small team

Office:

  • Office experience - filing, organization, ordering, inputting inventory, etc.

  • Basic Point-of-Sale software operation. We use AIMsi software and this crosses into the showroom too (having some computer background will be helpful here).

  • Website design/editing. We use Squarespace (computer background).


Things we would like to avoid:

  • Know-it-alls. There’s something to be learned from every experience. We like to work with our employees and build them to be part of our team. If your previous experiences preclude you from learning anything at this job, we may not be a fit for you.

  • Flakes. Our customers expect us to be on-time and similarly, we expect our employees to be on-time to work and reliable. We ask that you arrive & clock in anywhere from 15 minutes to 30 minutes before our opening time (10am) and are willing to pay for it to ensure staff is present at open.

  • Job “hoppers”. Ideally, we would like our employees to continue to work here for years rather than weeks or months. If you are looking for something to get by to the next gig, while we would love to work with you, we also would much rather have you stay. We still may have opportunities that fit your vision but please let us know your intention in advance.
