NOTES ABOUT INSTRUMENT RESERVATIONS:

UPDATE 10/1/25: Please note that some of our higher tier instruments with limited availability will now require a refundable security deposit at the time of rental.

While Eastside Music allows the renting of instruments for adult self use, it is our primary goal to ensure that students of local schools/education programs are prioritized first in having access to rentals, particularly when their availability is limited. We exercise discretion in allowance of adult use rentals and will require deposits if we haven’t had previous rental history with you. We appreciate your understanding.

  • As a rule of thumb, all reservations are expected to be ready by next business day. We cannot guarantee same day turnaround time, however, submitting your reservation no later than 11:00am will increase the chances of being ready same day.

  • We will call you to notify your reserved instrument is ready and will leave a voicemail if possible. We will then follow-up again within 2 to 3 business days if we were unable to reach you.

  • Instrument reservations will be held for 7 business days. Please let us know if you need more time or if you need to cancel your reservation.

  • All instruments are available on a first come, first serve basis. We will contact you if the instrument you’ve requested is unavailable.

    • [OUT OF STOCK]: Currently no inventory available to rent, please check back at a later date.

    • [CALL AHEAD]: Very limited inventory exists for this selection, call ahead to confirm availability before submitting your reservation as they could run out at any time.

    • [EXCHANGE ONLY]: Inventory pre-reserved for existing renters to exchange up in size. Not available for new rental contracts.

  • You MUST bring your driver’s license (or equivalent state ID) and a debit/credit card with you to present at pickup.

  • You will be asked to sign the rental agreement at the time of pickup.

  • Returning the instrument undamaged to our store ends the rental agreement. You may return the instrument at any time.

  • Information transmitted through this page is secured through Squarespace and only provided to Eastside Music staff members for rental purposes. Your information is never sold to third parties.

  • The level of information is required to secure the value of the instrument being loaned. Please contact us if you cannot provide certain information. 503-491-2270.

ATTENTION PARENTS: If you have information regarding the band or orchestra book your student’s class will be using this school year, we ask that you indicate the title of that book (and level) in the comments field. Although we try to get as much info as possible from the schools, sometimes there are delays in us getting that indication so your help will ensure the student has the proper supplies when class begins!
